Windhoek International Airport (WDH)
Windhoek Hosea Kutako International Airport is the most important airport in Namibia and is rather far from Windhoek, 42 kilometers east of the capital. The airport is used almost only for international flights. Domestic flights arrive or depart from the
smaller Eros Airport that is much closer to Windhoek.
Walvis Bay Airport
Walvis Bay Airport is the second largest in Namibia and one of three International airports in Namibia. Situated in the Namib Desert 15km (nine miles) east of Walvis Bay, passengers can enjoy scenic views while taking off or landing. Daily flights are available from Johannesburg and Cape Town (except Saturdays).
The airport is located some 15km east of the harbour town of Walvis Bay. Due to the ongoing upgrading of the airport facilities at the airport, the runway has been reduced in length to 1,675 with the consideration of the safety margins. Nevertheless, the airport can still accommodate the aircrafts up to the performance and weights of B737-200 series.
The new expanded dimension of the runway will enable the airport to handle wide-bodied aircrafts from the middle of 2008.
