The Company

Trade Ocean Shipping Services (Pty) Ltd was formed in 2006, as a legal vehicle to buy-out TRT Ships' Agency from ZA Trans, a division of the Barloworld Logistics group. Included in this negotiated buy-out was a division of ZA Trans that functioned as clearing agents and was designed to meet the specialised requirements that accompany the shipping of perishable products within the industry.

Extending the legacy

TRT Ships' Agency enjoyed a long and credible history as clearing agents that stretches back to 1968 when the business was established under the banner of TRT Shipping Services (Pty) Ltd. Trade Ocean strives to continue the legacy of service excellence within the ships' agency and clearing and forwarding industry.

Striving for leadership

We offer a range of Shipping related services, including ships' agency, clearing , forwarding, and logistics and act as customs clearing agents through our offices in Durban, Cape Town, Johannesburg in South Africa and Walvis Bay, Namibia. We also operate via reliable sub-agents in many smaller Southern African ports.

Taking ownership

We know that what we do, down to the smallest detail, has an impact on our clients' success. As such, we treat clients' cargo or vessels as if they were our own.
